🚨 Leadership isn’t just a role — it’s a multiplier

 

New data from Culture Amp’s 2025 report reveals something we’ve long suspected but now have proof of. It's an impressive set of data where they analyzed global Culture Amp platform data from enterprise organizations with 1,000+ employees, collected between April 2022 and April 2024. The dataset includes responses from over 1.7 million employees, including 22,308 senior leaders (VP and above) 🙌🏼 :

 

👉🏼 Employees under great leaders are 4.5x more likely to be high performers

👉🏼 Trusted leaders inspire 71% of employees to stay — a 47% boost vs. lackluster leaders

👉🏼 Leadership transitions spike attrition by +40% within 6 months

👉🏼 Poor leadership = disengagement. Great leadership = performance, commitment & trust

 

And yet…

 

There’s a growing Leadership Sentiment Gap — a 40% perception disconnect 🕳️ between C-suite leaders and frontline employees. While executives report a rosy experience, many employees are quietly struggling.

 

🔍 The research identifies 6 leadership types:

1. The Trusted Leader (most effective – 38%)

2. The Nearly-There Leader (32%)

3. The Divisive Leader (18%)

4. The Lackluster Leader (7%)

5. The Here-and-Now Leader (4%)

6. The Confidential Leader (2%)

 

Only one profile that consistently drives performance, loyalty, and engagement: The Trusted Leader

 

But here’s the kicker :

 

Even good leaders can falter if they aren’t:

 

✅ Giving continuous feedback (+18%)

✅ Aligning clear goals (+20%)

✅ Holding meaningful 1:1s (+12%)

✅ Taking action post-feedback (+22%)

 

💡 Leadership is no longer about doing more — it’s about doing what matters most.

 

In a world 🌎 shaped by disruption, hybrid dynamics, and shifting expectations, great leadership is the competitive advantage 🏅. Let’s stop promoting leaders without equipping them. Let’s close the sentiment gap before it costs you your culture!
